I went to gay guys, straight guys, gay girls, straight girls, and just yesterday I had a heavily tattooed girl with a nose ring – bull style. Her colorful fruit tattoos intrigued me so I asked why she chose them – she was vegan. So now I can add a vegan to my list. I learned where she was from, where she currently lives, what animals she has and other mundane things. She’s been at this particular salon for 2 ½ years now, so I figure I’m safe for awhile.
I did have a “gal” that I went to for a few years after Casey. We had a connection as far as being around the same age and both having black labs. I liked her until I decided I wanted to do something drastic with my hair. I basically left the salon looking eerily similar to a young Rod Stewart. I also “followed” her through three salon changes as well. The third move, the one where I became Rod, was further away from where I wanted to travel and that ended that. It was all good until I ran into her at the beach where we both brought our dogs about six months later. I stammered out some lame excuse about how a friend of mine went to beauty school and was now using me as her guinea pig. I don’t know why I even told her as she didn’t ask me where I’d been, but my hair looked totally different from the last time she saw me so she had to have known I’d fixed it.

Did you ever go the salon and liked the way another stylist was doing somebody's hair? Did you ever change to that stylist and get dirty looks from your old stylist?
My girlfriend does this repeatedly. In fact, she started with one stylist, then switched to another and then went back to the first stylist!
I couldn't do that. I such a wimp!
The only people who touch my hair are my three family memebers that are hair stylists! I can count on one hand the times that I've gone elsewhere, and I was so scared I had to tell the perosn the whole story about how my mom is a hair stylist and no one ever touches my hair except for her, etc., etc.
Not to brag or anything, but it was really cool growing up in a house with a beauty salon in it! Except for on a random Wednesday night when my mom would put one of those caps on her head, and make me pull the strands of hair throught the holes so she could frost it!! Ah, the good 'ole days!
I'd say, let your hair get around! It does always grow back!
Florida/MaineMom - I have thought about that. In fact, I wondered while I was at this new salon I went to how often that happens. I could never do that either.
Kristy - that is pretty cool having a hair salon in your house. Plus you could tell your mom your real thoughts w/o hurting her feelings.
It just seems like hair stylists move around so much - I wonder how many lose their clients b/c of that.
I LOVE that picture of Rod - I literally laughed out loud in my office and prayed that no one heard me...
My hair gets around. Supercuts - whoever is "on". At first I tried going to the same lady there, but one day when she wasn't in, I got another lady and she charged me $40, when my regular lady charged me $70. So ever since then, I just go to whoever is open.
...Supercuts is great because it's mostly all men that go there, so you never have to wait, plus it's fun to see the men try to pick up their hair stylest (makes me happy that Jerms goes to a barber), and then there is the gay guy, I love to see the guys that are uncomfortable with him running his fingers through their hair. For me, it's a hair cut AND a show!
Erin - Speaking of your hair, you mean that bun thing on the top of your head?!? I didn't even know you had long hair until I would make you take it down!!! Have you been wearing it down more often, or still just the one day a week?
Let that beautiful hair down already!
Kristy, back in the day Erin used to "do" her hair. Oh yes! In fact, when I first met Erin, she had LONG hair - I'm talking LONG. Then one day she came into work with this cute short hairdo.
The last time I saw her hair down was back in '97.
....reminds me...I've got to stop "picking up" my friends at work...
!!
